McCreary County Chamber of Commerce
2011 Annual Banquet

The McCreary County Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting & Banquet was held Thursday evening, October 20, 2011 at the Pine Knot Civilian Conservation Corps (Job Corps) gymnasium. Special thanks to the staff and students of the culinary arts department for a delicious meal and to the carpentry students for parking assistance. All in attendance also enjoyed comments by guest speaker Ray Moncrief of the Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation. Mr. Moncrief spoke about successes and failures in business, both of which provide valuable lessons, and emphasized the important role of entrepreneurs in the economy.

The Chamber's 2011 Banquet also included the presentation of several awards including Educators of the Year Rhea Gilreath & Mindy Strunk; Student of the Year Marie Gilreath; Citizen of the Year Adam Phillips; and Business Person of the Year Milton Morrow. President Nick Greiwe presented the President's Award to Chamber Secretary Wendy Wilson Duncan and the Chamber Board presented President Greiwe with an award for his outstanding leadership during his year in office. Incoming officers and board members were also sworn in by Magistrate Jason Mann.
