Republican Party Hosting Lincoln Day Dinner
The McCreary County Republican Party will host their
annual Lincoln Day Dinner Friday February 3rd starting
at 6:00pm at the Heritage Hall in Historic, downtown
Stearns, Kentucky. The guest speaker this year will be
Mike Duncan, former National GOP Chairman. Tickets are

Tourism Launches New Website
McCreary County tourism officials have embarked on a
campaign to increase marketing efforts to attract
visitors to the region. Part of that effort is a new
website recently launched with a new, fresh look and
updated information on attractions, lodging, dining,
shopping, events and more. The site can be found at
www.mccrearytourism.com and is also available
through the previous web domain of
www.kyvacations.com.

Chamber of Commerce Presents Annual Awards
During the 2011 Annual Meeting & Banquet, the
McCreary County Chamber of Commerce presented its annual
awards including Business Person of the Year Milton
Morrow, Educators of the Year Rhea Gilreath and Mindy
Strunk, Citizen of the Year Adam Phillips and Student of
the Year Marie Gilreath. Outgoing President Nick Greiwe
presented the 2011 President's Award to Chamber
Secretary Wendy Wilson Duncan, and the Chamber board
presented President Greiwe with an award for his
outstanding leadership during his year in office. New
officers sworn in during the October 20th banquet
include President Greg Burdine, President-Elect Adam
Phillips, Vice President Diana Bybee, and remaining
officers Secretary Wendy Duncan and Treasurer Amy Sweet.
Board members for the 2011-2012 year include Milton
Morrow, Buddy Wilson, Bill Taylor, Lee Braden, Vanessa
Bryant and Nina Bradley.

Chamber of Commerce Elects Board Members
The regular membership meeting on September 21st
included elections for new officers and two new board
members. Board members elected included Milton Morrow
and Nina Bradley, while officers for the new year will
be President Greg Burdine, President-Elect Adam Phillips
and Vice President Diana Bybee. Wendy Duncan remains
Chamber Secretary, with Amy Sweet as Treasurer. New
officers and board members will be sworn in during the
October 20th
Annual Meeting & Banquet.

County Museum Conducting
Business Timeline Surveys for County Centennial
The
McCreary County Museum is requesting local business
owners to share a history of their business so
current businesses across the county can be
documented. Staff will also be interviewing
individuals to recall businesses of the past, with a
goal to document every business over the past one
hundred years. The Museum plans to create a timeline
that will Celebrate Businesses of the Past and
Present. The Museum plans to reveal the exhibit
during the Centennial in 2012.
